Awakening is not about becoming more special. It’s not about rising above others, achieving perfection, or collecting spiritual gold stars. It’s about becoming more you… less defended, and more present. Rooted. Unmasked. Clear. But often, before we touch that clarity — we meet the shadow of spiritual smugness. The subtle ways the ego disguises itself in spiritual language. The stories that say, I’m better because I know more. I’m awakened, and they are not. It can feel like empowerment — but it disconnects us from the true work of awakening, which is intimacy with all of life. Which is humility. Curiosity. A willingness to be undone, again and again. Real awakening softens us. It asks us to release performance and perfection, and instead, to return to what is real. To meet life as it is. And to love — without hierarchy.
