Authenticity Day 14 - Release

Click to Play Audio

A seven-minute video on audio letting go

You honor your Warrior Goddess self when you take the time to learn what best serves your body.

Part of reclaiming your authenticity is releasing old thoughts and coming back to the truth of what your body needs. Don’t use this to judge yourself: “Oh I just ate something not good for me so I should punish myself…” Or “My body is sick/aging/overweight/hurting so I must be doing something wrong.” No. Let go. Just notice. Release. Listen. Pay attention. Ask your body questions. Listen some more. Then take new actions, a little at a time, to come back into alignment with the authentic needs of your being.

By releasing all the old definitions of who you are and living through your five senses, you connect with the immense gifts that each sense provides.

Authenticity Day 13 - Senses

Click to Play Audio

Our five senses are ever-present tools to bring us back to our authentic, in-the-now, experiencing self.

Play a game with me. Imagine you can take your worries and fears and gently set them aside. Pat them on the head and imagine tucking them into a nice cozy bed for a little nap. Then bring all of your attention to your five senses. Spend today living through your senses rather than through your thoughts. Use your brain power when needed, but where it is not needed tune into the superpowers of your senses. As you experience the world by turning up the volume on your sense of touch, taste, sight, hearing, and smell, notice how living from your senses brings you back to your authentic self.

Each sense, when used consciously, helps you to come fully into the awareness of the present, which is the only place where you can be authentic. Your senses can bring you back into the truth of this moment—the physical reality of now, rather than thinking about what you wish or think should be. It is only here, in this moment and this time, that you can release the mistakes and regrets of the past as well as the worries and fears of the future. ~ Chapter 7, The Warrior Goddess Way

Emily K. Grieves

The piece Divining Dreams is part of an ongoing series called “Navigating Miracles,” in which I have been exploring the ways in which we move through life, sometimes aware, sometimes asleep. Sometimes we are clear about the path through the waters of our lives, and at times we feel like we are at the mercy of the waves. In our quest for meaning in the vast ocean, we look for signs to guide us along the way, stars in the heavens perhaps, or some creature beneath us as company. Exploring the symbol of the boat as the vessel, the form in which we navigate this great adventure called life, or even as a symbol for the soul, has been powerful for me. As long as I have two oars with which to row, and I observe the signposts around me in my environment, then I can experience life as truly miraculous.

Authenticity Day 12 - Awareness

Click to Play Audio

A six-minute audio to shine your awareness

What you need to free your mind from its crowded jail of limited perception is already within you: the vastness of your true self, your awareness.

Have you ever watched a baby become aware of its body? It is so beautiful to watch the curiosity, awe, and amazement at opening a hand or flexing toes. I believe becoming authentic through awareness is like that same feeling of awe: wow, look at this being that I am! Look at my mind, look at this body. Wow! Awareness takes us out of the narrow judgmental perception and expands us into seeing ourselves as part of the universe. Awareness takes us inside and outside simultaneously, so we come home to our authentic connection to life. Today, be aware of the thoughts that separate you from your authentic expression. But especially be aware of the miracle that you are and the blessings of all you are connected to and supported by.

In addition to this outer watching, the practice of awareness means you also watch your internal reactions to this exterior stimulus, because in doing so you will learn more about yourself. In this way, awareness is the key to practicing all the other tools on the Warrior Goddess path, because the first step to changing anything is to become aware of the need for change. ~ Chapter 7, The Warrior Goddess Way

About Today's Artist

Michelle Levy
Reflections of the Soul – inspired by my thinking that our truth can be found when we seek to rest in both our beauty, and our power. The wholeness of the moon, the total life force, the power of growth and renewal lying within its shadows, mountains and valleys. The beauty which surrounds us everyday. And how, if we are really still, we can melt into ourselves. We can sink into all that we are, and all that we can be. When we are still in that way, silent in reflection and gentle in greeting, we can meet ourselves. In all our power, and all our beauty. We can release that breath. That breath that says, this is me, this is who I am, and I am enough.

Authenticity Day 11 - Stillness

Click to Play Audio

An 6 1/2 minute audio on finding your stillness

When we relax into the inner lake of our stillness instead of struggling with the chaotic waves of feeling overwhelmed, worry, and judgment, we learn to listen and act from the still presence of our authentic self rather than the frantic doing-ness of our busy mind.

The path towards authenticity is inward, a turning to befriend own inner stillness. That still center is within us, it is just covered by years of mental noise. Don’t try and fight the places within you that are loud, or to battle with your mind. Let the mind do what it does, and go beneath it. Tune your awareness to attend more to the stillness than the words.

Today start asking yourself a question I’d like you to lovingly and openly ask yourself every day: Where is the stillness in this moment? Let the stillness itself answer.

There is an unexplainable element to stillness that works wonders in the lives of those who have learned to tap into its transformative power. When we get still, quiet the mind, and surrender to the universe, this is often when we have realizations, new ideas, or fresh perspectives, and things otherwise fall into place in an unexplainable way. ~ Chapter 6, The Warrior Goddess Way

About Today's Artist

Asia Morgenthaler’s paintings explore the relationship between: art and spirituality; the Feminine and nature; creativity and intention. She begins each painting with an intention or an inquiry written directly on the canvas. The canvas then acts as a portal for her and she remains in a state of inquiry and curiosity throughout the painting process. Painting is her way of accessing and communicating with her inner child and the Divine Feminine; it is her sacred practice. She is inspired to create powerful and compelling images of the Feminine that make women feel whole and empowered. She also feels called to help other women connect with their inner knowing in women creativity workshops.
Alice
Alice (the name came to me in a dream) means nobility. She is connected with the cycle of life, of ancient heritage, the wisdom being passed on generation to generation, through the DNA. The lighter colors symbolizing new life, growth, and possibilities.

Authenticity Day 10 -- Self Love

Click to Play Audio

A six-minute audio on how to love you

Self-love is an action, and you practice it every time you look within yourself, listen to your heart, and honor what you hear.

I believe self-love and self-respect are the same. Both are also actions that we need to practice, a little bit at a time. If you’ve been practicing self-hate and self-diminishing for most of your life it will take time to learn a new way to be. But this is the woman you are destined to be, this is your birthright: falling outrageously, fully in love with yourself and the unique expression that you are, and starting to really listen to both your gifts and your needs.

Today take one tiny action of self-love.

Self-love is what allows you to bring balance to your life and your world. You honor your own needs, desires, and choices, giving them at least as much attention as you would those who are close to you. ~ Chapter 1, The Warrior Goddess Way

Authenticity Day 9 -- Respect

Click to Play Audio

A 6-minute audio on authentic respecct

The first lesson of authenticity is all about cultivating respect and using it as a tool to transform any fears that are keeping you from being the woman you want to be, which is synonymous with who you are destined to be.

Authenticity emerges from a deep respect for ourselves: where we’ve been, who we are now, and who we are becoming. When we hold all three: past, present, and future with respect we have build compassion and honor for the being we are in this moment. When we hold our past, present and future from fear we operate from feeling victimized and/or being judgmental. Fear brings helplessness and frustration; respect brings curiosity and creativity. Today ask yourself: what is respect for you?

The amazing thing is that when you cultivate Warrior Goddess respect, you no longer see your fear as an obstacle, and believe it or not, you may eventually even look forward to finding places that you are afraid so you can dance through these fears rather than run from them. ~ Chapter 6, The Warrior Goddess Way

The piece Mother of All Creation was a great blessing to me and the result of a year-long contemplation of the Divine Mother as the primordial and eternal creative force in the universe. She came to me as vast as the infinite connection of all realities into one, and as accessible and immediate as a woman I could imagine encountering on the street near my home, with her embroidered blouse and hand-loomed shawl, and with an ageless wisdom and an exploding heart, loving all of her creation with a simultaneous ferocity and gentle compassionate care.

Wisdom Day 8 -- Authenticity

Click to Play Audio

A 7 1/2 minute audio to gather up your authenticity

Authenticity is not something to strive for on the outside; it is something to embrace from the inside.

The definition of authenticity is: not false or copied; genuine; real. It takes time and patience to unearth our authentic self from years of trying to be what we think others want us to be, from roles we’ve grown to believe are who we really are, and from our own self-rejection.

Today imagine yourself as an enthusiastic archeologist, digging for the treasures of your genuine, real self.

Authenticity is looking at yourself in the mirror and seeing your beauty, your grief, your courage, your quirks, and your fears all with the utmost respect for the preciousness of the human that you are. Authenticity can also be described as the willingness to discover who you are at the core of your being, embracing all that you find, and bringing both your soulful essence and your quirky human self fully into the world with- out shame or hiding. ~ Chapter 5, The Warrior Goddess Way

Wisdom Day 7 -- Apology

Click to Play Audio

A five minute audio into the wisdom of not apologizing

Habitually apologizing drains our energy and keeps us small.

Without apology! Imagine that: not apologizing for your opinions, for your fears, for your emotions, for being you. This week pay attention to how and where you are unconsciously apologizing, out loud or in your own head. This isn’t about never apologizing; it is about becoming mindful so you are not apologizing out of habit, and you learn when and where to give heartfelt apologies as needed.

Remember, you weren’t born apologizing or feeling responsible for others; these are things you’ve learned over time. Changing our unconscious agreements and actions can go from awareness to transformation when we stop judging ourselves and simply perceive what is, in this moment, with curiosity. As you notice all the little places you either apologize or feel responsible for outcomes or others’ happiness through- out your week, ask yourself, “What am I really apologizing for?” and “Why do I feel responsible for this?” Go deeper and explore the foundational agreements you are carrying. ~ Chapter 4, The Warrior Goddess Way

About Today's Artist

Originating from the Pacific Northwest, Heather Lawrence knew since she was a small child that she wanted to be an artist when she grew up. Upon her completion of high school however, she went off to college to pursue a career path in graphic design. She chose this in part because of the uncertainty of what a life dedicated to the arts might mean, and felt societally pressured to follow a different course. In 2014, Heather started a tantric meditation practice that allowed her to open, heal, and explore her chakras. A transformation began to take place, and Heather felt called to the paintbrush again. Since then, she’s dedicated the majority of her development to her artistic expression. Heather is now based out of Medford, Oregon and her artwork is inspired by visions, sensations, dreams, and her limitless imagination in both the physical and non physical realms. Often times these realms overlap and Heather’s artwork is an attempt to visually represent energetic expressions that have no physical form.

Wisdom Day 6 -- Forgiveness

Click to Play Audio

A 7 1/2 minute audio into the wisdom of forgiveness

A goddess wants to celebrate each moment, and so she forgives herself and others for the events of the past, opening her heart to the imperfections and pain of humans, softening as she goes and choosing love over revenge.

What burdens are you carrying that weigh you down? When you feel ready to forgive someone from your past (and don’t rush, sometimes you are not yet ready to forgive; honor that) either write yourself and them a letter – not to send but to use as a way to clear – or imagine having a conversation with them where you forgive. Remember, forgiving someone is not saying you agree or condone their behavior, only that you want to stop using their behavior to hurt yourself. See The Warrior Goddess Way for a full list of other “forgiveness untruths.”

Forgiveness allows us to turn and face our future with clear eyes and open hands. When we forgive, we lay down a heavy load so we can use our strength to take care of ourselves, learn from our mistakes and others’, and make new choices. ~ Chapter 3, The Warrior Goddess Way

Wisdom Day 5 -- Stories

Click to Play Audio

A seven-minute audio into the wisdom of stories

I believe that we are here, as women, to radically shift our perspective to release our stories of fear and self-doubt and consciously create a new story that is grounded in presence and self-fulfillment. This is the wisdom of the story in action, and it is the key to transforming your world.

If you were a writer and you were the strong, feisty heroine of your story how would you view your past? How would the story of your life help your heroine to be the rocking powerhouse she is now? Reframe your story and write a tale not of victim or judgment but of a woman strengthening and loving herself through the fires of change.

As you go deeper into your wisdom, you will uncover layer upon layer of stories, old emotions, and patterns of holding on to things that no longer serve you. Sometimes you will need to bring in the heat of fire to burn away the old, sometimes the softness of water to gently cleanse. Sometimes warrior fierceness, sometimes goddess compassion. Your wisdom will show you which tool is needed for each situation.
~ Chapter 2, The Warrior Goddess Way

Today's Artist

“Sunrise in Teotihuacan” was such a special time of the morning for me. I had travelled to the pyramids for the women’s Warrior Goddess Retreat and would routinely find myself desiring quiet solitude to contemplate the deep transformations and experiences that were taking place. Early one morning, before the sun came up, I climbed to the roof of The Dreaming House and watched the sun begin it’s ascent into the sky. The sun and I exchanged energy and I felt my soul recharge with its fire. The sun has always been a strong force of powerful energy for me but the sun in Teotihuacan felt especially potent. It was from this deep communion with the sun that I felt called to adopt it’s name as part of my own and Tara Sol was born.

Wisdom Day 4 -- Perfection

Do you have a list of perfect ideals you try to live up to?

I used to live by a long list of who I needed to be. I thought that if I just did everything on the list (Lose 5 pounds! Have the perfect relationship! Accomplish everything on my to do list! Always look well-rested and happy! Be kind and strong!) I could accept myself. Frankly, it sucked.

Your real self, who you are at the deepest level, is a pure force of nature, expressed through form, and an amazing, crazy-cool, utterly unique creation of brilliant perfection. Really. ~ The Warrior Goddess Way, Chapter 3

Today’s wisdom is this: let’s just skip the long lists and decide we are perfect in this moment. Be perfectly yourself. No one else can come close, so there you go, you are perfect as you are. Owning it is pure, brilliant wisdom.

Acceptance

A six-minute audio to bring acceptance to all

To change who I am, I begin by accepting myself for who I am now.

So many of us believe that we can only create change when we are judging, resisting, and even hating the parts of ourselves (or others) we don’t like. That somehow our self-rejection will open the doors to becoming better women. But I see change happening through the kind of wisdom held by a long-lived matriarch: change from being loved fiercely, accepted fully, and always fed good food and words.

Can you practice having a compassionate acceptance of your self and your story, instead of judging yourself for having it? The Warrior Goddess Way, Chapter 2

P.S. I’m going to ask you a favor. It’s a birthday favor. I turn 50 on October 13th. To celebrate with me will you please buy a copy of one of my books for yourself or a friend? Wisdom Day 2 - Presence

Click to Play Audio

A five-minute audio to connect you to your wise presence

When you can say, “This is who I am now” from a place of presence and loving assessment, you reclaim your power to choose who you want to be and who you want to become.

On the path of reclaiming our wisdom we must first start with a simple act: getting present. Presence in this moment brings us home to ourselves, releasing us from the grip of the past and the fears of the future.

The Warrior Goddess Way is a pathway of presence, baby steps, and practice. It is a road to reclaiming all of you—your darkest fears and your most precious gifts. The Warrior Goddess Way invites you to bring your compassion, love, and humor to the entirety of your being on your walk to becoming the woman you are meant to be. This is a core rewiring of how you have been trained as a woman, a digging up of the old foundation to replace it, brick by brick, with a new, more solid and resilient structure. ~ The Warrior Goddess Way, Chapter 1

Today practice using your breath to bring you back to presence. With each breathe repeat: this moment, this time. No future, no past. Wisdom is here. Come back home, over and over again.

Day 1 - Wisdom

Click to Play Audio

Wisdom arises naturally when we learn to listen. Not to the voices in our head, but the voices in our cells. Not to our internal judge, but to our natural discernment. Not to our disaster mind, but to our creative knowing. Everything you need is within. ~ From The Warrior Goddess Way

As we step into our Warrior Goddess Way 21-Day journey, we are joining together to explore the three pillars of a new way: our wisdom, authenticity and yes! Each day you’ll play with different qualities and how you can embody them in your life. I invite you to take a moment to commit to yourself for the next 21-days: to listening to the short audio, reading the teaching, and chewing on the word throughout the day. In this way you will digest the information and make it your own. If you miss a day or two, no worries, just start back in again when you can.

Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly, and invite your inner wisdom to speak. Let yourself know you are listening beneath your own fears and doubts and judgments for the brilliance that lives in your cells and heart.

Today before you make any decision take a moment to ask “What would my wise self do?” Take a deep breath and listen.
